I want to Teach English in Brazil

Maybe you’re a career English teacher and you want to try something different. Maybe you are in love with Brazil and want to find a job that will let you stay in the country longer. Or maybe you have no idea what you’re doing with your life and you think teaching English in Brazil sounds cool.

Regardless of your motivations, most of the questions that you have about English teaching can be found in the English Teaching FAQ.

You may find these online resources useful once you start teaching.

Several English teachers have been so generous as to share their stories with us here. These stories are the most useful pieces of content for first time English teachers to read. Here are just a few of them:

Teaching English is a good short term strategy to live and work in Brazil, but after a while the teaching lifestyle can be limiting. Myself and others have found that working online provides greater freedom and less hassle than running around town giving English classes.

Ideally you start preparing to go down this route before you come to Brazil. Starting a teaching website and niching down was how Eric was able to make R$6800 his first month in São Paulo.
