How to eat out for cheap in Brazil

October 14, 2013 By Josh Plotkin 4 Comments

Are you spending way too much money eating out in Brazil?

In this video learn about a special type of restaurant where you can get a lot of food for cheap.

Sem balança restaurants allow you to fill up your plate with the option of 1 or 2 pieces of meat for a flat fee, usually 8-12 Reais.

If you don’t eat meat ask if they give you a discount.

To get the most food on your plate, put your salad on the bottom, then the rice and beans, then meat.

Don’t eat too much!

Even more importantly, don’t waste food. Only eat what you are going to eat.

The first time you go to a sem balança restaurant you should put less food on your plate than you think you can eat. Those rice and beans are really heavy man.

Enjoy!
